Concord is the county seat and the largest city in Cabarrus, with a certified population of 115,053 as of October 2025 — up from 79,066 in 2010, roughly 36,000 additional residents in fifteen years. Health care is the largest single anchor, with Atrium Health Cabarrus reporting more than 4,200 employees, alongside the motorsports cluster and the I-85 logistics corridor.

Listing business property in Cabarrus County
Cabarrus County Tax Administration handles business listings through the Tax Assessor's office at the Government Center on Church Street South. Listing is required of every business in the county, and the county runs the process entirely through that one office.
Cabarrus County does not issue business licences at all. Its own guidance answers the question with a flat statement that it no longer issues them, and that the only requirement is to file the business personal property listing accurately and on time. New Concord owners routinely spend a week hunting for a county licence that does not exist.
North Carolina requires an annual business personal property listing with the county, generally during January. Counties set their own dates and extension rules each season, so confirm the current year with your county before you file.

Every plan is the same monthly service.
